Baking is our preferred method of cooking frozen patties.

Preheat oven to 425, splash a bit of oil on both sides of the patty and bake 10-15 minutes, flipping halfway through.

Let burgers rest 5 minutes before serving.

CLASSIC: serve hot burgers on your favorite bun with melted cheddar cheese, grilled onions, sliced tomatoes, pickles, lettuce or sprouts and mustard or ketchup

BLACK BEAN BURGER MEAL IDEAS

DING-DONG: serve hot burgers with melted cheese, a fried egg and sliced avocado. Top with your favorite hot sauce if desired.

GENIUS: serve hot burgers with sliced sweet peppers, red onions, mango salsa, avocado and lettuce.

JOE’S GRANDMA: Think of an eggplant parmesan sub but substitute the eggplant with a veggie burger. With some leftover marinara sauce, a generous topping of mozzarella cheese and a minute under the broiler… YUM.

FALAFEL MEAL IDEAS

MAMA: serve hot burgers with tahini sauce, tzatziki (or raita), cucumber, red onion and tomato slices (feta optional)

CALL IT A: wrap hot falafel up with your favorite hummus, feta, shredded veggies (carrots, lettuce, cucumbers) and one of the sauces mentioned above. Add a tomato chutney for something extra.

SPICY: top falafel with kimchi, radishes, avocado, sesame seeds, green onions and tahini sauce

SWEET POTATO BURGER MEAL IDEAS

TWIST ON A REUBEN: serve hot burgers on your favorite bread/bun with sauerkraut, Dijon mustard, melted swiss cheese and pickles. Add Russian dressing for the full monty (mayo, ketchup and horseradish)

FIGGY: serve hot burgers with melted brie cheese with sliced apple, fig jam and mayo.

STELLA: serve hot burgers with caramelized red onions (or onion jam), arugula, blue cheese and your favorite condiments

OTHER IDEAS

Reverse the situation and make the veggie burger the topping itself. Chop patty and sprinkle it over any salad to add protein and extra fiber.

Pickled onions make everything taste better

Veggie nachos: crumble patty on top of tortilla chips, add plenty of cheese and bake. Top with pico de gallo, guacamole, lime, cilantro, pickled onions or jalapenos, etc.

Although we probably shouldn’t say it… Bacon is delicious on veggie burgers.
